Asc intermittent warning

My ASC warning light comes on randomly when I turn the engine off. It's inconsistent so i haven't been able to replicate it for the dealer. It's a 2013 LC and the dealer tells me that the unit doesn't record the reasons why a light comes on so unless it's lit when I'm therr they can't trace the problem.
It's currently covered on an extended warranty, but that won't last for ever of course.
Does anyone have any experience of something similar?

Hmm, I'd take that with a small pinch of salt. Their cars record faults which haven't got as far as triggering the warning light. I called the cavalry the week before last after the intermittent misfire and occasional stutter at pull away on my 520d got worse. No warning light or dashboard messages. Geezer turned up 45 minutes later. Computer diagnosed EGR valve fault, he got a replacement and fitted it. Sorted! Car's better than it has been for a year.

I call bullshit it doesn't have a recorded fault. I would guess it's the speed sensor.

Not bullshit from the dealer the ASC does not record faults when it glitches ,similarly the ESA does not record faults when it plays up ....................I've been at the dealers when they plugged my old bike in to check re both issues and zilch was recorded .

Similarly I quizzed my old bike with a GS911 and it again showed no faults despite the fact that the ASC had been playing up a couple of hours previously.

Couple of years ago I spoke to a Dutch lad who lived in Switzerland who was the owner of a 2013 GS WC and he stated that his bike would regularly suffer random electronic glitches and after the second replacement ECU did not cure it the bike was fitted with a new wiring loom.

I am inclined to believe the dealer. I took my bike in for a headlamp fix under warranty and when I picked it up it had a new exhaust too. They’d spotted the value wasn’t opening so replaced the whole thing. I hadn’t noticed anything before so they could have easily ignored it.

I know bmw cars do record faults, but I don’t think their bikes are, or weren’t, as sophisticated.

If it’s one of those random things, or something relatively cheap to fix I won’t worry. I’m just concerned that it might be the first signs of something expensive. Something that will wait until the day after the warranty runs out!

Bit of a longshot have you got that pesky Enduro pro plug, plugged into the bike, if so remove it and then see if it still does it.

I'm not, I don't believe 99% of what comes out of any dealers mouths. They usually have very limited knowledge of what they sell or work on. The valve not opening properly would have thrown an error.

This is why I invested in the dealer level diagnostics to do my own work
