Mucky, is your setup still working fine?

Autocom say that it will only work for short periods.... and prolonged use will fek the Active7 Smart unit

Mine's worked when I've wanted it to and I haven't noticed any issues. Don't really use it that much but I'd have thought enough to show any probs. If it's an issue with what's being drawn from the Autocom that should have shown itself by now, either through thermal or load.

When I spoke to Autocom last year, they spec'd the combined power & tx/rx lead, Icom and Active 7 Smart and gave no warning about anything not working and shagging the Autocom unit. If I need to change my setup to save the Autocom, I'll be asking them for a free lead!

I'll give them a call sometime. Thanks for the info.

We were told the same when we contacted Autocom about powering my bruvs Kenwood. He uses a Active 7 Smart. The answer my friends resides with that master electronics man Rob Farmer. Rob made me a lead up containing a bit of lectric gubbins and that has bike powered my bruvs Kenwood faultlessly for the last 5 months. Hope Rob's not going to bolix me for telling you all this.
