I've just fitted a Zumo to a GS 650. I wired the power from the rear light and routed the cable up through the bike so it switches with the ignition. I'm about to fit an Autocom now. Is it OK to strip some wire back from the wiring from the Zumo where it runs under the seat and solder the Autocom wiring into that to save taking of the rear light and doing the routing again - or will this cause problems by drawing too much power?

thanks,

Thanks John, I'll take another look under the seat and see if I can see what they are talking about.

In case that doesn't work, does anyone know if can splice the autocom power lead into the lead I tapped off the rear light for the Zumo?

Might help. Looking around my 06 650GS GD I saw the plug that on the 1200 is by the headstock and is a switched 12v feed. Might not be the easiest to get at though :( There's a sticky in the 1200 section IIRC on how to amke the lead for it.

BTW it's the black palstic plug cover in the middle of the picture.
