I’ve an Autocom Active Duo, hardwired to my F800gs, a Zumo 660 bluetoothed to my Blackberry and back to the Autocom via Bluetooth for the phone and cabled for music and GPS instruction. It all plays nicely together but occasionally when I make/receive a phone call (I’ve not figured out any logic to when it may happen) I get a horrible deep buzzing noise through the speakers. It’ll continue after the call has ended until I unplug/re-plug the riders lead.:blast

Anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks

When I had my bluetooth module fitted to my K12GT I went to Autocom direct and was very impressed as they fiddled and tweaked/resoldered the box etc to get the optimum connection quality. Give them a call and pop down to see them one day I'm sure they're resolve it for you

To see what is causing the issue have you tried pairing your phone directly to your dongle? This will show if the Zumo is blame etc.

I have had a similar thing all but once prior to connecting my Zumo 550.
It seems to happen at higher volumes and only for the rider.

I can 'reset' when unplugging the extention lead from the hard wired lead out of my AVI Pro box.

Be interesting to find out why this happens???

Thanks Rich,
Interestingly I've only added the Zumo to the mix recently, prior to that it had never happened.
The Autocom is 'Velcroed' to the face of the air box under the fake tank, as this was the only place I could find suitable and was trying to keep it away from the battery to avoid possible interference, this does however make it fairly inconvenient to fiddle about with the dongle!
I’ll give that a try when I’ve time to get the toolkit out! Although with the regularity that the new 660 seems to spend falling over I’ve a suspicion that I already know who’s the culprit! :augie

If your phone ran fine via your dongle before I would say the finger could be pointed at the Zumo then. You would also have to remember the more bluetooth connections the slightly less phnoe quality you would acheive.

I have a similar set up and also use a Blackberry. The blackberry is one of the worst mobile phones when it comes to interfering with other systems. For example none of our other company mobile phones affect our little office radio as much as an employee walking by with his BB, especially with incoming calls/messages.

Have you tried to remove the BB a bit further from the dongle/autocom?
