Avon Distanzias

Read some bike mag. today in Tescos They rated the Avons as better than the Metzler Tourance I've always used.

Anyone got any experience of these? What the mag. didn't say was what the comparitive wear rates were.
How does the Distanzia last, compared to a Tourance?

I'd like to use English rubber as well.

I've got them, no difference to Tourances on the road, plenty of grip for my leisurely style of riding. Don't know how many miles they've done, not anal enough to log that kind of thing.

not tried the tourance so can't compair

Which would cover most of the road biased tyres you can fit to the GS, as most of us aren't good enough to tell the minute differences, me included Just out interest, what sort of mileage did you get form the Avon's, TVMIA.

I had these on my Adv when i bought it, the bike handeled like on rails, the front tyre was badly 'cupped' due to the tred pattern and was like a thrupenny bit.
I replaced them with the metzlers, the handeling then felt as if someone had greased the tead, very unsure, but got better, but no where near the old Avons, but thats just my experience

I like them.

Bought them for 2 reasons. Steve Rose in RiDE raved about them on his long term 1150GS and they were £30 a pair cheaper than Metzeler or Michelin at the time.

I'd certainly buy them again, but it depends on price. Same price as Tourance then I'd have the Avons.
