Just fitted a set of Avon Distanzia yre to my bike... and i am finding them a good tyre but have not and can not find any comments on here about them .... has anyone else tryed these tyres out on there bike ?????

Steve Rose, who had a long term GS when he was with RiDE mag, used to rate them quite highly. I'm currently running an Avon Gripster rear, Tourance front, and I can't fault the Avon so far.

Avons... square off and wear out in less than 3k, only marginally better than an oe Bridgestone.:(

"Avons square off"

Richard,
I think that depends on your rideing style ("anoth said") my Distanzia's have been on the bike for 4,000 miles now, nice "even" wear, good grip & feedback approx 2/3rds wear and i think Migsel will back me up that i dont hang around!

I ran a set of Distanzias a couple of years ago when it was hard to get Tourances. No problems and just as good as the Tourance as far as I could tell. I would be happy with either - it jut depends what's in stock. Michelins and Bridgestones (Trailwings) were crap, in comparison. Might try a set of BT020s now, though...

Had 2 sets on my GS1150, excellent in the dry but inconsistent in the wet, sometimes they gripped & then they didnt. Poor wear rate & dearer than Tourance which I prefer overall.
