For those that ride on lanes in Derbyshire, this is the debacle that is Back Lane, Darley Dale after the heavy rain. For those that dont know the council tarmacked the edges and filled the middle with aggregate, costing significant amounts of money solving a problem that didnt really exist. Incoming TRO I am sure (although apparently there are repairs expected there fairly quickly). A lot of the tarmac now is effectively 'floating' with the aggregate having been washed away. I'm told the lane from Chatsworth house is also not good at the moment, but didnt go and see this.

We just rode to the top and walked down, as wasnt sure what state it would be in.

Let the TRF know about it (if they don't already)

One of the routes we used this and last year on our Autumn rides was rebuilt after I contacted the council and suggested he contact the TRF for help. The TRF contributed about 75% (IIRC) of the repair costs.

I can’t remember now how much this cost ( very close to where I used to live in Darley Dale).
I remember at the time fulminating at the idiocy of it, and predicting exactly what would happen as a result!
AND NOW IT HAS . . . . !
