Ride Magazine Issue 101 said that the Chatterbox Vixen audio goes off above 60 mph and the fastest speed at which the system could be used was 85 mph. The Autocom is good for 160 mph.
By all means buy cheap as an experiment, just be prepared to chuck it after a year if it's not up to scratch.
I am sure some find their Chatterbox systems perfectly adequate for what they need.

Several years ago I used this setup - crystal clear up to 75mph but never took it further. It was a bit fiddly to put on but I believe Ultimate Ear now do a type specific earplug that may improve things

Had one - totally useless. One time in 10 it actually fitted so it didn't hurt and worked so you could hear anything. Frustrating and rubbish.

I dont think i will bother and, ive got my eye on a 2nd hand autocom
