Oh, I like it, but is it doing it any harm, my neighbours are concerned that the engine may be damaged, at least I think that's what they're gesturing about when I pull away at 6 am !
My 1150 backfires with a Y+standard can, but not Y+Remus. I've swapped them back and forth several times and faffed about ensuring the pipes are sealed properly. (I did see a lengthy explanation on here somewhere that the backfiring is due to back pressure with a Y+standard can set-up. Dunno if that's true, but I know which set-up backfires on my bike and which one doesn't .)
Although the Remus is slightly louder overall than I would ideally like, the backfires with the standard can were a serious pain, especially in villages and near horses, so Remus it is.
Has it had the cat removed if so no worries the only damage would be to the mufler inside the box. watch for old ladys
If not see your dealer or local bike shop as it could be incorrect mixture settings
Mine does it every now and then (hot mainly). Just slow down a bit more before you change gears that works best for me anyway Bill
