I've read through the old threads but can't find the answer.
05 GSA 1150 has flat battery, not totally as its still primes the fuel pump and has bright dash lights, so me thinks ok whip battery of my old motor ( car) in the garage connect the free standing battery to the emergency connections on the starter and rear cylinder +and - = bike should start.
If only, the thin type bike jump leads got pretty hot and I had a waft of smoke from the starter motor area. Checked but could see and melted wires, maybe its just the car battery bats not in a full start of charge ( its a Bosch S3 70Ah) not really sure. It turned the bike but maybe not as fast as it should so I'm thinking go and buy some heavy duty leads and have a go straight from the Landy defender this time.
Question is engine running on the Landy or not ?
I'm sure life was easier in the old days without all this electronic worries of frying.
Anyone got any thoughts on this ?
