Beeline app subscription

So far so good on mine, but like I said to Casbar, I’m not planning RTW trips with it!

I do find it very easy and intuitive to create a route with the app, which is good as obvs. I don’t read the instructions🙄

Thanks Berin.
I did some more digging online today and seems the Beeline app uses Google Maps for the plotting/routing. This is good.
Might splurge some money into a Beeline 2 too then :D
What it won’t do, is alert you to traffic information. Hopefully, this might be something that will appear with the subscription. I’ve been caught out by road closures, which is fine in the countryside but - perhaps - more important in London.

Horses for courses, the simple things, they do well.

As I leave for a destination I enter the postcode, tweak the route on the phone app if I want (don't usually bother), and just go. If I want more direct but slower / quieter route, I tell it I'm on my bicycle and it routes accordingly. As a bit of a technophobe, it's the right level for me, but will be under-specced for some.

One thing's undeniable though, they're very inobtrusive and a lot more elegant than a big screen jobby on a mount.

Eventually got my sister to buy me one as a Christmas present this year :)
Will be more useful than the XT in London and, also, I'd be happy to be able to follow .gpx tracks while on the HP2 without having to lug around an (unpowered) XT. And could possibly use it on the pushbike too.

Now the big question: gunmetal gray or silver? :D

I tested it a couple of days fixed to the bars (I keep the XT parallel to the crossbar, similar fashion to a roadbook), but since I do not plan to pay the subscription, as this for me is a lighter alternative to a fully fledged GPS mostly used in the city, you don't always see it flashing if placed too low.

Ordered a RAM mount adapter to use it on the HP2 (.gpx routes).

Now I just have to solve the frequent bluetooth disconnections, but that is not the Beeline's fault, rather my iPhone 13 that has a fair amount of issues with Bluetooth as it constantly drops connection with a number of devices... it's gonna be interesting to solve :)
