Be glad you've lived that long and are still fit to ride
I'm not sure what's going on at BeMoto
Thank you Wessie for digging a little and investigating. Safe to say, I shall be moving along to someone else.looks like a lot of turmoil if you look at Companies House. Set up by 3 directors in 2015 sharing financial control. Wholly owned by one since Nov 2024.
Maybe the two that have left were the ones with the contacts with underwriters to get decent rates?
A quick google shows the remaining director is an accountant by trade and that the other two worked in insurance, one for Aviva and the other for one of Bemoto's big competitors in broking. Adds weight to my hypothesis.
I sense another MCE in the making as I doubt a bean counter will survive in the cut and thrust of insurance broking against the behemoths behind the likes of Swinton, C Nash and Devitt. He has already set up a holding company to be the major shareholder which is never a good sign.
It's an age thing - grumply old man syndromeI’m finding everything makes me angry![]()
Going the way of CN after Carole sold up , they are become just another insurance brokage firm rather than a specialist motorcycle insurer that actually gives a t*sslooks like a lot of turmoil if you look at Companies House. Any current opinions on Bemoto?
BikeSure is Ageas, Bemoto is KGM. But I've just been reading Simon Dippenhall's horror story with Bikesure.I would be more concerned about the underwriters offered by these similar quotes. They will pay any claim and if there is a dispute, you deal direct with them not screen readers in the Bemoto call centre. As I posted above, Bemoto seems a little wobbly at the moment with directors leaving, complaints about poor service and some reports of high renewals.
Anybody care to come up with a format for such a poll? Some of you have been riding/driving long enough to know your onions.
You do make good senseTrustpilot
Thing is, there is no consistency. It is all down to the person dealing with your claim and as we know, this part of the business can be outsourced.
As we have had from @King Rat things can be very different and get hung up if your claims handler leaves. We have had a recent case where a simple error of not cancelling a policy created a significant inconvenience to @simondippenhall
The only consistency is that brokers especially are pretty reluctant to hold up a hand and admit they fucked up. If possible, remove the broker and claims handling company from the equation and deal direct with the underwriter's loss adjuster. You have just one channel of communication direct to the actual decision maker.
Then we have the situation where companies are consolidated and the bike specialist is absorbed into a homogenous insurance retailer. One minute the droid on the phone is talking to someone about their pet dog's anal gland and then picks up your call about your KTM. Carole Nash seems to have done this.
All you can do is read threads here as people moan and very occasionally praise brokers and underwriters to get a sense of where we are at a moment in time. There is no guarantee that a 5 star broker will be more than 1 star when you make a claim 9 months into a policy.
