Reliving bike trips whilst sat at my desk....
The R1100GS I've been looking at has bent handlebars. Not massively, but you can just feel your arms of offset as you ride in a straight line. I've looked throught the Motobins and James SHerlock catalogues and I can't find a price for new bars.

I am assuming they will be very pricey for what they are, though, I may be wrong. Is there an easier fix, a cheaper fix?

I see that the bars see to be bolted on each side of the main crossbar, but I've never know what this is for.

Any ideas would be great.

Are the bolts either side of the bar for vibration isolation sections like the 1150? TBH I would be inclined to bin the damaged section, straightening bars is never a good idea.

Fit Renthal 664's. Same posture, don't rust, light and strong, and £35 new. Fitted them to my 1150 before I sold it.

Take a little effort to fit if you have heated grips though, and you'll need two rawlbolts from B&Q for the handguards/weights.

I disassembled my bars which had same offset feeling and found that the threaded lug on end of bar was bent
had it cut off and rewelded straight, now very happy! , I tried Renthal bars , obviously wrong part no. as they were too short for all the bits to go back on
I found it easier to fix old bars!
but that is My opinion only

On the BMW offroad course they just stick a 3' long piece of scaffold tube over the end and bend them back :thumb
