Judging by those knobblies you're running,i guess you clouted it with a big rock or something while offroad.
Is the metal cracked at all?.The arm seems to be made out of painted mild steel and the curved bits are the strengthening ribs.
Unless it rusts through, there shouldnt be a problem, but if you get a price for a new one from BWM,that should help make your mind up.

Your correct big rock offroad:augie the metals fine no cracks apart from the paint. The torque arm seems like it's 2 pieces the near side ones fine just the outside one which is out of shape.I'll give the big hammer vice treatment ago :thumb

Cheers Martin:thumb2

I ran mine like that on my Adv for over a year.
I took it off, straightened it a bit, got rid of the rough edges and then reset it (in case it's under undue pressure -rider sitting on bike routine). Twas fine.
Just check that the steel isn't ripped.

You bloody hooligan!

make sure the angle its been bent to and the damage at the end hasn't restricted the pivotting movement as well, or you'll be finding some very odd rear end behaviour ;)

Leave it as it is, even possibly add a bit of damage:eek:

Adds to your roughty toughty GSer look, (well to outsiders anyway:D )

That ty wrap looks huge???

there was one on ebay for £30 seemed like a lot to me, can't be arsed to look for it again though :D
Auction must have finished but there's one from the usa:thumb
