I'm sure this has been asked before, but what mods have added to the 650 & 800, what's been best, and what just hasn't worked.
Money worth spending or money worth saving...

Post some images of best and worst.

one of the (Many:blast) but most expensive has got to be uprated Ohlin rear shock and matched by progressive front fork...... transformed the bike :D

Aww, not the thread I was expecting... :green gri

:nenau :comfort :thumb

Best Mod is a better seat. One you can sit on for as long as it takes to drain the fuel tank.

Worst would be anything fitted for bling purposes only, with no other purpose!

Nah, dumping the original completely shite headlight bulb and fitting a Philips H7 soopa doopa has been the best for me. I can actually see where I'm going without the expense (and embarrassment of looking like a blingy poseur) of fitting Hid's.

Then Barkbusters, coupled with heated grips means Summer gloves on cold days.

Beowulf can is next, without the baffle.:thumb I don't need it, but.....

The most shit accessory must be an anti 'wobble' fing for the front brake rez...I mean, c'mon, Who the **** rides down the road staring at their brake res?*

*Er, actually, don't bother answering that. It would appear this is a major problem for some.........

The most pointless accessory must be the rectifier heat sink guard £19.00 or the frame plugs from touratech £25.00. Push corks in the holes and paint them black.

Air Hawk seat cushion (the new cheaper one and not the neoprene deal), Recon 11 tank bag (simple to fit and use and not too big), and a Cramp Buster throttle control.
About $130 all in.

Adventure Spec crash bars + Scottoiler + BMW Comfort Seat + Hyperpro progressive spring lowering kit + rear hugger (to keep the road crap of the monoshock) = happy F800 GS :)

Ok worst Mod on my F650 is letting the sales man talk me into the superior F800 standard screen as a tall screen option.

what a waste of money would of been better with a chocolate one at least i could have eaten it :blast

Here's my list

+1 Crashbars of any description ( just ask Paddy!)
+1 Barkbusters or any other hand protector which saves levers

Anything you can do to make the seat better (like my sheep)
Anything you can do to improve the pathetic headlamp (like my HIDs)

My Bitubo fork cartriges transformed the handling for reasonable cost

My Beowulf can sounds the bollocks but does nothing really

The Power Commander really cleans up the fuelling ...

Tall screens break if they take a knock

I've only got one Touratwat item, and even that was an Ebay steal ... otherwise I'd have stuck with my Lidl tankbag :rob

Talk to me about the Power Commander - does it de-snatch the low revs snatchiness?

Ahhh .. the Power Commander ....

Now then - yes, well...

It makes a subtle but very noticeable difference to the way the bike works ... I was expecting a lot of extra power but in all honesty it only gave me about an extra 2-3 bhp, but the biggest part of what it did was to smooth out almost all of the glitchy twichiness throughout the rev-range, and it completely removed the low speed twattishness it demonstrated before.

Now it runs cleanly and evenly from idle to red-line, it's more tractable and thus easier to ride because you're not always in high revs/low gearing stall prevention mode..

I had mine done by MooreSpeed racing down here in Poole after I'd fitted a Beowulf can - the PCIII was about £285.00 and an hour or so setting up on the dyno cost me another £120.00. I think it's cheap compared to the cost of some pressed alloy sheet items that some folks are racing to fit to their bikes...

Thanks for that reply Greggers, very interestin :thumb2 I`ve been pondering about adding one myself and your report gives much food for thought. I have already installed a Leo Vance end can,an accelerator module (very pleasing results), and am intending to go up a tooth on the front sprocket.Sounds like the PC111 may well be the way forward at this stage....

Best? Cameltoe on sidestand - no more worrying about parking on grass/gravel/soft tarmac. Or fixing the seat - so I can get to the grass/gravel/etc.

Worst? Metal Mule screen. Puts the turbulence right in my face...

Best has to be my Digger seat conversion

here http://www.diggerseats.co.uk/

When i initially sat on it i thought i had made a big mistake but after a recent 4000 mile ride in 16 days i was pain free, and for the 130 quid paid it was well worth it. not a great picture of the seat but you can see what it looks like and i think it looks great to.

I also love the Adv Spec bars and bash plate. and i love the MM screen unlike some on this thread, maybe i am taller at 6 ft 1?

if i had to pick a worst it would be the scotoiler, because i ended up carrying more oil to fill it up that all the others did with a spray tin of chain oil.

MDW whats the spec of the seat you asked diggerseats to do for you as it looks just what im looking for, my trip thro spain with a bmw low seat and a gel fitting was sh1t after 70 miles my ass was killing.

Get yourself a scot oily lube-tube i fitted mine under the seat tucked into the side so its out of sight and ive just done spain and never had to refill once and its still got plenty left in it.

Chad, how long did you have to send the seat away for? What did you ask for or you just chose the design from his range/corbin styling. Loving the look mate, top-notch. :augie

Give us the run down bud
