I have a r1200 gsa 2012 and cannot remove the satnav from its mount as it looks as though something has broken with the mount. Therefore of removing the mount and swapping it for something better. Has anyone recommendations for this? I also want to make its wired into the existing power lead

Luckily for you, you will get hundreds of different answers/opinions in answer to you question. Connection to the existing plug is the least of you worries since there is a freely available "repair lead" that will plug in and provide +/- 12V to whatever comes next. Nippy Norman supply one, for instance.
Hopefully someone on here will have had this problem before and tell you how to fix it. I've read of electrical failures of the mount, but can't remember a mechanical failure.
If the situation is a lost cause, can we ask
1) what SatNav is in there at the moment?
2) what route planning tools, if any, do you use?
3) are you prepared to put in the effort to learn a new route planning tool if necessary - if you were told that it would be easy to learn?
The current fave is to use an Apple Carplay/Android Auto waterproof display that mirrors the screen on your mobile phone or a mobile phone mounted directly on the handlebar using a Quadlock mount.

Yep, a question which will result in many replies (I expect) I use Garmin XT in preference to TomTom (just my choice)
A switched power source is fairly easy and I use Healtec Thunderbox
Can't really advise on mounting choice, there is plenty out there and internet research will help yo choose

You might get more focussed help.
If it’s the OE mount, there’s only a cam lever and four small bolts IIRC - unless someone has been meddling/tweaking it

That looks as if an incorrect device has been forced into the OE holder.
They holder was designed for a Nav IV if I recall correctly.
What’s the device you have stuck in there, currently?
I believe a 4 but can’t confirm

From memory, the Navigator IV and similar, had a flat back panel. The device in the picture seems to have an angled back panel.

A. Try squeezing the top the device towards the front of the mount, taking pressure off the release mechanism, whilst pushing the release lever.
B. Remove the mount and the fouled device, as working on the release might well be easier than with it affixed to the bike.
C. Try gently levering something between the device and the mount to GENTLY try to force the device out, whilst pressing the release lever.

Have tried but stuck tight suspect whole unit will have to come off then start again
