The metzler tourances (not the exp) should be a good bet then. Just avoid the mud and you'll be fine. For a more off-road biased tyre you could also try the heidenau 60 scouts which are getting good reviews.
I put the new Heidenau K60 scouts on in April this year.....fantastic tyre, both on and off road, wet and dry....wear rates are slow, and....bought/fitted for £225...


and have been on tour fully loaded and the tyres have lost no shape at 2500 miles so would expect a good 6000 and their good in all weathers but @£250 fitted I would love car mileage but my bikes there to be ridden not preserved
