Anyone know what the gap between the output bearing and the crown wheel is. Planning on replacing my bearing this weekend, just need to know if my puller will fit.

Yes, I could open it and look, but not before the weekend and the maint manager at work has a separator I can borrow - but I'd have to find a reason to visit another depot tommorrow to collect which I don't want to do if not needed.

Thanks very much in advance :beerjug:

I vaguely remember it being about 4-5mm. Had to grind down the bearing puller arms to get them to fit. Once in place, it took hardly any pressure to get it moving.

It has better be a big fecker - The standard type from a bearing separater kit doesn't fit -a combination of the width of the bearing and the small gap (2-3mm) available between the bearing and the face

A puller and separater are two different tools. :augie

Cheers for the responses guys, I'll go get the separator I'm surprised a 3mm "tooth" on a puller would last!

Cheers for that Steptoe, he's the group engineer so I'm hoping he has (or access to) some hefty kit.
