Big pile of dogshit

Well, as I have zero experience of ladyboys unlike your good self, I merely have my own experience of comparing my Tracer GT+ to other motorcycles that I have owned and ridden, and the Tracer GT+ is certainly not bland ;)
Theres a bar in Hamburg called Rasputin's if you are ever there......

Make a man out of you they will

And probably put a bit of man into you in the process. :barf
We paid for one of our new troop leaders to be...lets say, looked after orally by one of the 'girls'

Poor sod was half cut and loved every second....even as an officer they are young and stupid lol

I believe he made it to Major

What happens ashore stays ashore mate. :D

We did similar in Penang for a Shipmate that was leaving, he was having the best of times on a piss stained mattress in full view of the whole bar, spurred on with shouts of "wahey, look at him go", etc etc.

Well I couldn't resist

So I bought a new starter relay and swapped them (£60). Took 20 mins and remember to remove the -neg on the battery first otherwise you WILL weld your tool to something because the +pos on the relay is in a nice awkward position to get to. However really easy to swap out and its not actually bolted down to anything its clamped in at the top behind that plug that is just above the relay.

I also replaced the M6 nylon nuts (10mm socket) and they are specc'd to 6NM according to the service manual and it says also use loctite!

Then I have coated all the exposed metal with some terminal grease

This is the old and you can see some corrosion on the cables

Here is the new and you can see in the top right corner of the replay it has numbers stamped (++2321) on it so I am guessing they are reversion numbers?? but only guessing.

Manufacturing week month

Its revison 01 ;), and hasn't been changed yet

How bad was the corrosion on the old relay? A good shout to replace it if corroded as it causes high resistance, not worth being stranded for £60. My starter relay is spotless and no volt drop on a cold start, need to try a hot start sometime.

Can you do me a favour Paul, power on your bike without starting and have a listen above the left cylinder for a faint “coil whine” electrical noise beneath the fuel tank somewhere. Mine does this and the battery potential drops by 0.4 volts, not sure if I have an issue or if “they all do that Sir” applies.

I definitely get a whine but I will do the voltage check tomorrow Adam as I'm half cut 😁

Swapped my 1250 battery out last weekend, 3 years old and 90% of it capacity gone.

I was encouraged to change my battery by bmw dealer to cure a hot starting issue, turned out to be bollocks, it was a faulty stater motor paid for by yours truely after the warrant had run out. It was only the 9th time it had been reported to them. 8 of them while it was in warranty...anyone want a perfectly good battery for a drink? I have two

You is down wiv da kids

Having read everything I can find on the hot starting issue it seems pretty commonplace, I’m drawn towards removing my starter motor and giving it a clean, bench testing it and measuring its insulation value when it gets hot.

The 1250 suffers from a major design flaw…..

They didn’t use a quick release fastener on the battery compartment cover for easy jump starting !

After reading the couple of threads about the starting problem with the 1250, i have just bought myself a NOCO GBX45 Booster to keep on my 1250RT. Also bought the Noco eyelet terminal connector to save having to mess with removing the battery cover.

Thanks for the tip, I’ve just bought the GBC007 cable to fit to my bike as I already have a GB40. Until you posted it, I hadn’t considered you could buy one.

Last year I had issues with the bike struggling to start when hot during a foreign jaunt, got another trip coming up in a few weeks so I would like to be better prepared this time and prevent faffing if the worst occurs.

…..but thanks to what I just learned from a separate thread, you can fit a cable to save removing the cover. Why didn’t I realise that before ? :blast

You gotta love this place sometimes.

Too cheap to buy a new battery every other year as cheap insurance and then blaming it on the bike…🤣

How much did you pay for the GBC007. I got mine for £20.13 with my Honey discount.
I also got the case for my GBX45 from there to, same price after using Honey.
The trick is to only add one at a time to your basket and pay. I saved £12.72 in total.
As there only up the road from me, i'm picking them up to save on postage.
