Bike fell over and bent the top screen bracket

is the bottom bracket strong enough to bend the top bracket, as the top bracket bolts on to the bottom brackets with the adjustor screws?

Bottom bracket/plate unlikely to have bent - it's steel whereas the top bracket is aluminium.
The way i straightened mine ....
Lay it flat on a piece of card, on a surface with the feet overhanging the edge, then draw round it. Turn it over and do the same again, then draw a new position to show where it should be! It's fairly easy to bend but ideal to clamp lightly in a vice. Get it to match the new drawing, then ..... offer it up to both the screen and bike mounting points independently to determine whether you've got the shape and the foot spacing correct.

A guy I met in Italy last year had done exactly the same thing. He bought a new one and it was horrendously expensive....about £190 if I recall.

So if you can 'bend it back' go for it.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Bike fell and the screen landed on the bumper of my car :blast. I just took the bar off and bent it straight over my knee. It is soft aluminium and straightened easily. The paint cracked off around the area of the bend but it hardly notices behind the Zumo bracket and won't rust. The screen had a couple of crazes around the mounting holes from the strain of taking the weight of the bike but has not got any worse since.
