I like to come across some motorcycle Hacks that are cheap and possibly a good idea.
This one I found yesterday, no disc lock no problem, a shifting spanner and a old padlock will help temporary.

Please share yours on this thread, may help others not in the know.

I think that if you haven’t got a disc lock, you’ll be unlikely to have an adjustable spanner and padlock to hand. Also, if you haven’t got a disc lock, you probably shouldn’t be riding a motorcycle. But hey, super fast video.

Please limit the hacks to motorcycle security, before this dedicated sub-section fills with videos on how to turn an empty yogurt pot into a handy sun shade.

I don’t have and have never had a disc lock but have only been riding since 1977. I however have a few adjustable spanner’s and numerous padlocks.
I have had the great pleasure of watching at least a couple of people try to ride away with a disc lock still fitted.

I have done that, but only as far as the wheel disc lock up to the front fork stanchion, then Crunch, followed by a dazed look! "WatdaFook"! :duno followed by, "You stupid Tosser"! :anger

This hack was meant as a last resort solution to a security bike issue, maybe forgot that disc lock when packing for a trip. Easy to carry spanner, spare padlock in toolbox.

It is certainly something I could easily do. Hence no disc lock. I’ve always thought they are an accident waiting to happen.
I don’t live or ride my bike into a city though. This does keep it a little more secure. It lives in the garage at home fixed to a ground anchor. If I do go to work on a bike it is kept in my chainsaw workshop which is locked and alarmed so reasonably secure.

I understand, the no disc locks, I only purchased my last one, complete with Yellow lanyard, which was on sale, handy loud alarm fitted which I thought a good idea.
It goes off really loudly if I sit on the bike after it's been armed, so hopefully now no accidental off's.

Bike kept in a secure shed, in my completely fenced off area, rear of house, security Infra sensor with 2 metre steel door bar fitted to double doors with 3 padlocks on it, one sturdy disc lock fitted to bar for more added security.
Might take me a wee while to unlock, but never in a rush. Peace of mind is my preference.

Might help with security mishaps, using the bike like a normal vehicle to multiple random locations and not from garage to garage only :D

Also works if you use the indian-suggested method above, instead of a normal disk lock or U lock.

Life hack two.

Would also double up as a handy lead for dog walking.

Also handy in the summer when Spanish riding in baggy shorts too, wrap a couple of loops round the scrotum and tie the the two ends around your waist, it stops your 'lacks from flapping about in the wind.

Even better would be to attach one end to the disc lock and the other to your ball sack. A handy reminder not to forget to undo the disc lock, before riding off.

Or even a Disc Lock. The Pragmasis Round Lock is an excellent lock and very small.
