Bike stolen

Last night my bike was stolen from outside of my house.
HK51 WGE
Grey BMW R1150GS 2001 ABS
Bristol ,Redland area
It happened between 12am and 7am

For those unlucky enough to not have off street parking, can't you chain the bike to a fence, light pole or tree?
I would be even be prepared to anchor a lug on the foot path or road side and use a thick wire rope, large chain or frame using concrete steel reinforcing rod that bolt cutters won't get through.

It seems that if it is not if, but when it is going to happen to any of you, don't leave to chance just do it

Surly some of you are or know a boilermaker/welder that can make or help out, ok you lot who is going to start the ball rolling.
You just never know, might make a life long friend who is rider as well, hell you can't ride with a bike that has been stolen.

I know, easy for me to say, I am and have all the equipment and materials.

Just put yourselves in someone else's shoes for a moment and contemplate what it would feel like to have your bike taken.

ive taken my r1150gsa of the road cause of whats going on sticking with the RT , to who ever took the bike what goes around comes around !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bike Stolen

I feel your pain, I can't imagine having the bike one day and it being gone the next, hope the bar stewards get caught! That said, I had my GPZ100 (or was it a 125?) nicked from outside my digs in Horfield in Bristol about 30 years ago but The Fuzz found it abandoned and had it returned to me a few days later - so fingers crossed it'll come back - eventually!

Please use a lock or any other locking device, don't just leave it with the steering lock on.

If it's left with just the steering lock on i can be on your bike and riding away in as much time as it's taken you to read this post. So you can be sure there are other people out there who also have the same knowledge.

Fresh from my own GS theft I can safely say I feel for you.

I left my bike for less than 3min and it went (admittedly the video shows I missed it going by about 15 sec). I left it with just the steering lock on.

So Steptoe is dead right. Take heed and make it as difficult as bloody possible for those w*****ers.

Sorry though, that's proper sh1t! I had a 1 month old LC350 stolen from just outside my bedrooom window and less than 2 metres from my sleeping head a few years ago now and never to be seen again, it certainly hurt

Hope you have a good outcome and that your insurers keep things simple.
