Bike wont start HELP !!

Do a search - steptoe posted it some time back and well worth a look. Can't be arsed to search for you! Steptoe AND Hall Sensor should get it.

Try the easy stuff first though - did you try the old spark plugs and have you checked the little rubber bungs? Both have caught me out in the past.

Great:) Good luck – you’d have to be very unlucky to experience a major unrelated failure whilst servicing the bike – although it has been known to happen:( Let us know – it’s all useful

oH , AND BATTERY IS GOOD .
it's been on charge all day and is showing 16v :nenau dropping off to 13v during prolonged cranking of the engine .

Long shot if you have had tank off check to make sure the breather is not pinched as this wll cause vacuum in tank and starve engine of fuel

Knackered coil pack then? If it's not that I'm out and would suggest a call or visit to Steptoe. However if it ran before and now it doesn't it's very likely that its related to something that you've changed. Let us know....

Right then. Today I spent £13 in maplins electronics and assembled a nifty wee Hall sensor testing unit that will also help with timing the bike up .

The hall sensor is bench testing fine and doing what it should when you pass a feeler gague through the gap ( even with a heat gun blasting it ) and all the wiring checks out ok .

What next :nenau:nenau:nenau

coil feed and then check the resistance :nenau:nenau:nenau

Not your ignition electrical switch wiring? Have you tried wiggling it beneath the keys... may be a long shot but worth taking the 5 seconds to test it. You did plug the TPS back in... no fuses blown or anything...

would the ignition wiring cause the bike not to have a spark but still turn over ??? does anyone know ???
:nenau:nenau

No idea... but I had all kinds of weird symptoms from abs shutting off periodically, to bike shutting down for a second then restarting while I was still driving, to just clicking when I tried to start it. It only takes a few seconds to check... just wiggle the wires around where they come out of the headstock and see what happens. If the bike shuts down then you have it sussed... or at least part of it.

WOULD YOU ADAM AND EVE IT !!

Just built the bike back up after pulling the coil pack off for a look :nenau Don't know what I was looking at but I had a look anyhow .
Anyway , turned the key hit the button and it fired right up before the engine turned half a revolution . It really does sound sweet , but I'd have liked to get to the bottom of the fault. you just know it's gonna happen again , probably 400 miles from the front door :blast:blast:blast:blast

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP ME OUT :beerjug::beerjug:
