I have bit the bullet and part exed my k1200s for a 1200gsa.
I have opted for premium pack and dynamic pack in magma red.
I only had the k1200s for a few months after getting rid of a march 08 gsa due to the dreaded ring antenna problem leaving me stranded in holland.

one question - are the new ones fixed?

I've not had a problem, love the GSA. Enjoy your ride :beerjug:

problem

Yes the new shoud be fixed. My 07 had recall done today by the good folks at Bahnstormer.:thumb :thumb:thumb Also had mapping upgrade,It seems quicker on uptake.
Cheers Bob:beer::beer::beer:

picking mine up on tueday Exactley the same spec as yours and yes the new bikes have the new Ring antenna,my 06 had the old one though it never went wrong.Dont they look cool in the Red:thumb

nothing wrong with the k1200s.
however my eldest son who now comes away with me a lot feels safer on the
gsa and also with the k1300s coming out i was worried of huge depreciation so decided to return to the gsa before the k1200s plummeted:nenau

You're one tough customer!!! Prepare yourself for more ring antenna faults, fuel pump controller faults, front engine plate corrosion and enjoy the bike!!! :)

You are absolutely right. i should have kept the march 08 gsa. but having broke down 4 times on my way to assen it did me in.
It would have been in the north sea if i could have pushed it that far.
In the clear light of day i should have got home, got it fixed and rode on:blast

I got rid of a GS as it pissed me off as well, for similar reasons. Now back on the GSA with more realistic expectations. Got a nice look round Beaminster yesterday whist waiting for a new fuel pump controller :)

Let me get this straight...

You had a 08 GSA, traded it for a K1200S which you have now traded for a 08 GSA.

And you are worried about depreciation?:nenau

Ditto.
Took me a tad longer I think.

Just curious! Why would people buy a 58 model now when in Mar/April next year (after the winter is over) you could get a 09 model with possibly newer colours and maybe more? Or am I wrong here, maybe there will be no changes made to the 09 models?

I have been thinking about trading up to an adv, yesterday I phoned a couple of dealers about a couple of bikes that I like at about 10.5k. One dealer offered me 4.75k for my 04 plate 1200gs with 37000 miles. [over the phone] I asked if we could get anywhere near my bike and 5k for a deal ? he responded that if I was interested in a brand new bike he could do a fabulous deal over the next two months, when business is slow, and we all love a deal dont we ?

It makes sense that they will try harder to do a deal now winter is with us, as opposed to spring when we are queuing at the door.
