I've got an 02, I have owned and ridden many bikes in the 20 years since I passed my test.
the two best are - '88 slab side gsxr 1100
1150 adv
the two things that in my opinion you will have to do are
1.change the rear shock for something along the lines on maxton or ohlins
2.upgrade the lights, go to the gs mods section and look up my recent post.
take your time and find one with the bits on
30 ltr tank
ally luggage and top box
lighting upgrade by BTBR
decent shock
bagglux tank cover and bag
Y piece (replaces catalytic converter)
tobinators (they alter the screen so it doesn't buffet you)
heated grips
and maybe a different seat , depending how you get on with the standard
well that's the spec on mine, all I need now is another set of wheels and it's finished (to put off road tyres on)
great bike ,superb fun to ride
I went from averaging 2000 miles a year to 12000
hope this helps
good hunting
Rob
Oh yes 6k should get you a good one
