blinkin dash light

A red 'dot' light came on today. It blinked 3 or 4 times then stopped, it located below the green headlight indicator.

any ideas what it is ?

Manual says it's for the alarm or keyless ride:

9 with anti-theft alarm
(DWA) OE
DWA ( page 86)
with Keyless Ride OE
Telltale light for the radiooperated
key ( page 49)

If it lit when you turned the ignition on, it indicates that the alarm has been activated.

I've got a feeling that the number of flashes also relates to the way it was triggered whilst you were away...EG 3 flashes for tilt/shock, 4 flashes for electrical change , 5 for multiple triggerings etc.
