Here and there.....
Off on the train Saturday morning with my son Dan,going down to Tarn et Garonne for the week to shut my little place down for the winter.Weather looks a bit unpredictable through France, so will probably do more motorway than usual this time.Doing a slightly different route also, and am looking to Stay in Blois on the way down. Any of you well travelled old tossers stayed there? and any suggestions on reasonable hotel with safe parking for the bikes, bars restaurants etc.
Thanks in advance:thumb

I've stayed at the Ibis Hotel in both Blois & Amboise. The Blois one is centrally located, giving plenty of choice for restaurants in the town.

I stayed in a place in Amboise ,not too far, called Clos D'Amboise. Very nice with secure parking. Lots of nice restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

There's some stuff HERE about a hotel I usually stay in (dead basic but proper old skool French and the best breakfast coffee ever!)...........but...........it looks a bit closed on Street View and it was a couple of years ago since I was last there - let us know if it's still open please when you go to Blois :thumb

Oh, and Timolgra is right about the camp site and you'll get fresh bread and croissants delivered first thing by the local baker in her van :)

Won't be doing the camping option  bit cold and wet, I'm a fair
weather camper:blast

And I've just seen Giles pic of Blois on the "A picture a day" so hopefully he'll be along with a few eating/ drinking suggestions.

I stayed at the ibis Blois Vallée Maillard in April this year ... its 5 minutes outside of town with secure gated parking ... i'd advise you book 24hrs in advance as if you turn up on the day they'll sting you for the full price .. as i found out :blast ... pre booking will knock about 15 - 20 euros off the price ..

Was in the logis in Blois last Friday night. Seemed pretty good to me :thumb2
