Blood Running
Just started riding for
SERV Wessex ...... first run was on saturday!
Spoke to insurers previous to starting, Carole Nash, and they are aware of what
SERV do and are supportive! For other insurers state, that its voluntary! NON Paid.... not even fuel costs....... a Charity! which puts the insurance tag in the social part of the definition.... business class not required! On account that your not employed by or taking money from anyone!
With
SERV Wessex you dont need to be IAM to start, on your own bike, but endeavour to undertake training and pass within a year (How hard can it be?) To ride the marked bikes... yes IAM pass and a min. of 10 runs (think its 10?)
Was well nervous first time out but they're a good bunch and someone will 'buddy run' with you till you're ok to go solo ( thanks Danny

)
Face it we all like riding bikes..... just as well be doing something usefull while we're at it!
You volunteer when you are free per month, the shifts are spread between all the rider/drivers so tops you may get (if you asked for lots) 5 dutys per month if thats too much only ask for when you can fit in... sometimes you'll get a run sometimes not, sometimes maybe 2 or three per duty!

depends on how busy the medical world is at the time.... all part of the fun
JUST DO IT
