Exactly, Davy, most GS's/ KTM's are fine, we just tend to hear about lots of issues on these forums, which makes people come to the wrong conclusions.:D
 
Peeps only shout loud and hard when things go wrong perhaps you who have not had issues should start a thread saying ! Ride my gs today , nothing broke , nothing corroded THANK YOU BMW. LORDY LORDY PRAISE BE !!!!

Just completed 8k on my 2013 lc no issues f.....g awsome bike love it.

Of course there's a ship to jump to

Jump forward to the 2015 model year or jump back to a late (run out) twin cam model.

I have a 2013 Triple Black and it would take a lot of persuading to get me off of that excellent bike.

Ditto.... Got a 63 plate Triple Black GSA ..... 3rd GSA I've owned.... It's now just done 6000 miles and no issues..... Would take a lot to upgrade ( allegedly ) to a new one..... But the KTM is very very good..... On road.....!! Just a proper hooligan machine.... And I need my licence....:rolleyes:

the new KTM is amazing on the road, a french guy who was on the 1190 at the TT on mad sunday was untouchable..and he was 2 up:blast

My dealer has been great , always made sure had a bike to ride and did the fixes I record time , thanks Clarkes .
Also used the wife's Ducatti when mine was not usable .

Sold the triple black for the LC , agree the twin cam was great , but the LC is a different class . Would I go back .......... Maybe but I would be wanting then , so may as well stick with the small problems , the bike out weighs the issues as I first posted .

But I don't want another ktm .... I love my LC , that why I posted ,,,,, as you say I'm stuck with it , rather that than a vibe box lol

I agree :D (and I'm honestly ... honestly not saying this 'cos I've got an LC ..)

There's only so quick you an go on a road. One bike makes 130 bhp, another 150 .... is it really going to make a huge difference over a 100 mile ride say? If one bike is going to blow another into the weeds it has to be significantly different to get there five minutes earlier.... :thumb2
 
So BMW are capable of designing brilliant bikes, not exactly an unknown on here especially. They have a brilliant design and engineering team, apart from the comedian that signed off cam chains in the gearbox, that is absolute idiocy of the first order. They need a new transmission maestro as well.

Just a shame that there is too much influence from the accountants.

Of course :). Nobody buys a bike based on absolute power or the fact it can get somewhere 5 mins quicker (do they?).

It's all about 'how' it gets there, how it delivers that performance, how many times it makes you laugh out loud and, even dare I say it, it's faults (character?) .

Currently I've rediscovered a lot of the above and I'm loving it :)

.Same the world over....and because we (the buying public) are greedy...always wanting more..for less...whether it be beans..or BMWs, that's the way it will be. Look at Saab when they "bucked the trend".. Engineers overruling accountants...fine, fine product..but went out of business.
