blue exaust pipes...

Hi, just a sanity check really. A mate and i upgraded to 1200GS in August, however after ~2k miles my exaust is blue near the manfold (2 or 3 inches) before it turns brown. His is all brown. We both have crome pipes. Is it me or the bike?

Had a surf on the web and apparently it can happen with crome pipes if running lean, which might explain it. Do i need to do anything about it or is normal?

your just running it harder, therefore hotter than your mate. I'd think it's nothing to worry about.

My down pipe is blue quite a long way down the pipe, been like that since new

Scorpion can seems to be getting bloody hot as well
