Apparently I got the first and only one in the UK at present, but it is a new replacement battery for the HP2E and Sport as BMW admit that the OEM is not up to the job. My brother picked it up yesterday, I don't have any info on it, but I will be flying in from Thailand at the weekend and will give you the full details either over the weekend or early next week as I'll be on the road to Morocco...:thumb2

I'm not sure but will find out for you as my brother who is on the way to Spain took care of this for me. I have one HP2 on extended warranty and it seems they changed the battery for free to a higher crank rated unit. My brother also told me it was a fault BMW UK have recognised, and to get to the dealership fast as it is the first one in the UK. I don't even know the brand right now, but if I can't find out from him, I will be in the UK at the weekend and will give you the details here.

The guys out here have just changed my HP2 sport battery (1 yr old) and the replacent is a BMW battery (made by Exide) with the no:
61.21-7 653 523...Don't know if that's the same as the original or uprated. Would be interested to know - Tony:Motomartin

Hi,

EXIDE ETZ-12BS

Muzz

If you whack that in Google, it appears that it's a standard fir in the KTM 950 SM as well......and there's a thread on Advrider that mentions it as being a dealer replacement item for the HP2

I'm sure another few clicks would tell you the specs and cranking capacity for comparison with the original item if you wanted to as well :)

Thank you guys. Mine has that Exide no: ETZ-12BS as well as the above no - so I guess that is just a BMW part number. lets hope it lasts :Motomartin
