BMW Car headlamps

Someone posted a question about using BMW (E36?) headlamps as a replacement for the 1150's headlight, did this come to anything?

I'm assuming that as I can't find the thread that they don't fit and no more was posted, but if they did it'd be a great way to enhance my night vision!

no they wont fit, a mate ordered a few different lights at his workshop for me, none of them fitted they were all just a bit too, would of meant modifing all the front end
