Seems to be a hot discussion, anyone tried or considered the BMW alternative, any comments would be appreciated

cheap, nasty shite. I had mine for about 6 months before it fell apart and I brought me 3 year-old TourX out of retirement.
They are noisy.
The padding is cheap.
The peak is flimsy.
You have to dismantle the padding to fit an Autocom or similar.
The visor rubs on the peak unless you keep the peak back.
The peak is next to uselss against low sun, as it's too pointy.
The whole inner shell breaks loose from the outer shell and slides about.
In short, it's shite....... and that's from everyone I've spoken to who's had one for a while. The Hornet I tried on several times felt no better than the BMW lid..... same type of lining & padding.
Its a bloody good off road helmet
Noise doesnt matter off road
The padding is very comfortable
The peak breaks off when hitting trees rather than ruining a good lid.
Why on gods earth would you want autocom on a dirt bike
Visor???? use goggles off road
sunshine what bloody sunshine
LOL
I wear one its ok but have had better

They are noisy. Aren't all enduro style helmets noisy?
The padding is cheap. Can't comment on the price but it seems to ensure a great fit
The peak is flimsy. does that matter?
You have to dismantle the padding to fit an Autocom or similar. true, but you can simply buy replacement pads for the autocom and swap out as appropriate
The visor rubs on the peak unless you keep the peak back. so don't put forward when you are using the visor, when you're using goggles you can put it all the way forward
The peak is next to uselss against low sun, as it's too pointy. it's a lot less useless than no peak
The whole inner shell breaks loose from the outer shell and slides about. no idea what you are referring to here, mine has been fine

If the TourX fits, buy it. It really isn't worth the relatively small saving on the BMW lid for all the length of time it lasts.![]()

Freeloader, I'd love to know where you got an X3 for 'the price I was quoted - considerably less than £300.' So far I've found the plain ones to all be £299, give or take 10%.
(whose flip front I was reluctant to do without) hasn't been out of the cupboard since I got it.
