Spoke briefly to a lad at Wetherby services with a 14 plate gsa lc and he had a set of these seats fitted to the bike which he was raving about saying they are a massive improvement over standard.
They are BMW Exclusive seats, better foam and shape and covers ,anyone else use them and are they worth the money ?

Product Description

BMW Motorrad USA is pleased to introduce an additional line of seats added to the already extensive collection of accessories for the water-cooled R1200GS and Adventure. The Exclusive rider and passenger seats offer a visual upgrade over the standard saddle as well as increased comfort. Attractive color schemes combine with all colors for these models. With six different possible combinations, the comfort needs of riders and passengers can be custom tailored exactly.

Upgrade your saddle with dual color scheme, contrast stitching and embroidered lettering for a custom seat look. Increased comfort in part because of a 0.20 in Soft-Touch TM memory foam insert.

-Soft-Touch TM feels softer than ordinary foam, yet it supports better and retains its shape
-Rider’s seat is available in three seat heights-Low, Normal and High
-The passenger seat is available in two widths-Normal and Narrow
-High quality seating surface is made of artificial leather
-Exclusive multi-colored design in black/grey with white piping and grey double contrast stitching
-GS lettering in grey embroidered on passenger seat
-All three Exclusive rider’s seats can be combined with one of two different Exclusive passenger seats, which differ in the thickness of their padding
-Exclusive passenger seat: shape identical to the standard water-cooled R1200GS passenger seat
-Exclusive narrow passenger seat: shorter seated-arc length due to the narrower padding
-Soft-Touch TM memory foam insert on both versions

R1200GS version installed:
-Exclusive high rider’s seat: height 34.3/35 .0 in, seated-arc length 75.2/76.8 in
-Exclusive rider’s seat: height 33.5/34.3 in, seated-arc length 73.6/75.2 in
-Exclusive low rider’s seat: height 32.3/33.1 in, seated-arc length 71.7/73.2 in

R1200GS Adventure version installed:
-Exclusive high rider’s seat: height 35.0/35.8 in, seated-arc length 76.8/78.3 in

-Exclusive low rider’s seat: height 33.1/33.9 in, seated-arc length 72.8/74.4 in

Made by Kahedo....same as Touratech and available at your friendly UK Motorrad dealer.

Kahedo show pics of the seats for the lc models but they are only available via bmw dealers of touratech in the uk.
Typical I was 5 miles from their place at the weekend

I upgraded to these ( I have the Low seat and Normal for the pillion). They are a huge difference in comfort than the OEM ones that came with the Adventure, in my opinion. They look much better too.

While I find the stock seat on my 14 GSA ok for a few hours after that I'm really starting to tire of the too soft foam and sliding forward shape. I was just about to order a Wunderlich seat when I see this thread. I hadn't known of "BMW Exclusive Seats". Could you go into a bit more detail regarding the difference in comfort vs OEM? Shape, width, etc? For instance do they make them on a wider base vs stock?

I had a touratech seat on my LC, sold it and now have a Sargent seat and very comfortable.

I'm running the Sargent seats front and rear. Lots firmer than OEM to offer better support, and the shape is improved:
- No tilt to stop your gonads getting crushed
- Tailbone cutout to ease pressure
- Wider base cups your backside better

Just returned from 2k miles with the wife on the back and she said it was a huge improvement over OEM.

So I see, Steve. I've got a low Sargent as well and had a similar issue with the width. In fact, I find it easier to get my feet down with the standard height BMW seat than I do with the Sargent low model.

I've just had the cover removed and the foam on the nose of the seat recontoured by a local upholsterer for the princely sum of £30 and that's helped a bit.

I had Sergeant front and rear on my GSA LC. Had to replace the front Sergeant for the BMW original as when ESA set for 2 up with luggage, could not touch the ground. In fairness did not find the original too uncomfortable and being tapered at the front could just touch the ground.

I find the original badly shaped, made the mistake last month of doing a 200 mile stint on one day around the alps without the airhawk fitted and ended up shall we say badly bruised on my backside and inner thighs.
Even with the airhawk the shape of the seat causes discomfort, worse that the standard on my old 1200tc and the old r1150gs (which was exceptionally bad)

You're right. Coming from the GS the GSA seat slopes forward and has an odd shape. I can't get comfortable even with an airhawk. The best I've managed is lifting up the front so it's flatter but it still feels uncomfortable after an hour or so. The GS seat plus airhawk was fine for a 350 mile trek last year. I'd be interested to see if this BMW seat is better. I'm not sure about the Sargent seat as it looks a bit wide - but my commute is short enough not to be too bothered by the OEM seat so I'm really after a separate longer distance seat - but the best of both worlds would be better!

I rode 500 miles on the stock seat this past Friday without too much grief. I'm saving my money for other farkles. :beerjug:

Looks like the new 2016 gs triple black has the exclusive seats fitted as standard.

Panzer rider what are bmw charging for the seats in comparison with the touratech kahedo or the wunderlich kahedo versions

Are those exclusive seats only available in the US?
Or can we buy it in Europe as well?
I'm from the Netherlands but I can't find any info for those seats....

Maybe available in the UK?

BMW Seat

Hi guys, just purchased the BMW seat from Rainbow. Initially tried the Wunderlich which I've previously found to great as they have a different shape to the standard. However the Wunderlich was much firmer and uncomfortable, although it looked great. The BMW was £290 and is a lot softer and so far really comfortable.

I have an Exclusive tall version on order. The part number on my receipt is 77348553995.
