Good points and food for thought there Cooky
My own experience- I added an additional year on my '09 after the two years was up. (-£310.00) There was an electrical problem which Park Lane took an age to sort. Covered on Warranty but I never got managed to get a final invoice to show the work which was a little frustrating. I did also get a loan bike FOC for a week.
Never bothered to renew last March. Put into my budget account (+£300)
Added 23k on last year.
1 Speed Sensor went kaput, replaced at dealer. Rocker cover seal (-£100)
March: Added again to my budget account (+£300)
Just now needed new FD bearing @ 43k
(-£300) Now, would the warranty have covered that?
So anyway I still have a balance of +£200 in the kitty for anything additional that may be needed this year. Not at all unhappy considering miles done last year and general abuse the ol' tractor took
Had I had it over again I probably wouldn't have bothered with the warranty and banked a budget amount- I actually use Steve @ Motoscot now and I'm pretty confident he would have solved the electrical problem.
Also with the newer model coming out I think there will be more used parts etc coming along thus making things a bit more managable.
