Update message comes up on opening Bobcat-then states that this update is essential before continuing, so no chance of skipping.

Fixed issue where some route calculations could hang interminably
Fixed "Displaying results within..." string not updating for empty find results

Fixed various find crashes

So

halfway through download the following message comes up

GarminBobcat.dmg

reason : Not recognised


Done it to me 3 times now... any ideas ?

try going to garmin site and downloading the dmg from there?

Good idea... just rang garmin and they are getting back to me after trying it their end

Annoying as Bobcat can't be used until the update is installed

I managed it OK this end - download worked, Bobcat updated and ready to use. Does sound like the download corrupted and fried your install. Sling it in the bin and download Bobcat fresh.

Just did that

Seems to be working ok.... just another point.. is it just me or can you not search for co-ordinates using bobcat ?

had to boot up the old laptop and plug the GPS into that to transfer a set

It's not you Bryn, the functionality is not there for that......... yet

Can't be far off as the information is there, if you create a waypoint on the map, look at properties then 'advanced' its all there but you can't search for a set of co-ordinates.
