I took my outer jacket to the shop and sized up for a Keis heated inner today. The sizing matched my Rukka at 54 for both. Wired it directly to the battery with the 7.5 amp fuse carrier and gave it a quick try out. The most surprising thing for me was the speed at which it heats up, almost instant. Time will tell how good it is as it isn't that cold at the moment.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Pair it up with some heated inner gloves and you'll be nice n toasty always.

Life changer, I wish I had Kies years ago.
I did get a BMW heated vest in 08 but it wasn't much cop.
I got the inner gloves but found them bulky and a tight fit.
I might give them another go.
Its amazing how fast the heat goes up your back once you switch on the vest.
A must for a passenger even on a cool blustery day.
If you don,t have one get one.

This just might be what I need to persuade Mrs W back onto the bike for a bit of touring. Always cold and miserable with it.

My hands haven't been a problem and I have some nice gloves that are waterproof and warm. I'm thinking that with a warm body core everything else will take care of itself.

Have a Keis jacket and think I have only used it above the low setting once maybe twice. Just bought a wireless controller for it as got a bit fed up of the supplied controller though.

I just use a long sleeved t-shirt under it.

Only thing I found is you catch a chill quite quickly as it doesn't insulate much once off the bike. I normally carry a snugpack jacket during the winter for when I stop or if I was to break down.

Plenty of options to add heated gloves, trouser liners etc if needed with only using the one loom and controller.

Good luck and enjoy, although it's been pretty mild so far and has hardly been used this winter

I've had the waistcoat but found that my arms felt cold compared to my body.
Up graded to the full jacket last year, What a difference, base layer and T shirt under the jacket is all that's needed now.

Now the downside.
If you have the heated gloves, not the inners, they don't come on unless the jacket is on max setting, oven ready.
I've found the best thing for me is silk gloves under my Rukka gloves, not full on winter gloves.

For the coldest of weather bar end muffs are without doubt the best, not the most stylish, but the best for keeping the cold and wind chill of your hands.

Cheers Dave.

Dave, buy a Warm'n'Safe twin receiver and controller, you'll be able to control your gloves and jacket separately.

Horsey people use these with the battery accessory.

I think that's my next purchase - it is a bit of a faff trying to get to the controller sometimes (and sometimes one part of it looses it's plug in connection).

Does it seem robust enough ??

I'm happy with mine, bought about 6 weeks ago - reduces the layers needed for my commute, reducing the time to peel everything off. If we get a proper winter I might get the heated insoles that plug into the jacket for longer trips. No lower fairing on the Tracer or warming boxer cylinders mean your feet are in cold air or water spray, so lose heat rapidly.

I have had the Keis jacket for a couple of years and the trousers and wireless controller for over a year. All work really well, heat up very quickly - wireless controller seems to be robust enough (has survived bike going down a couple of times!). With both and heated grips have never felt need for the heated gloves which I found very bulky. Only issue is that has been so warm have hardly used them this winter.

Muffs are the job, tried fitting them to the GSA but didn't work with the ones i tried.
Years ago i was doing a winter round trip from Connemara to Leeds taking in the Dragon rally, it was a cold, windy and wet trip.
Before i left i made up some muffs from plastic bags that we used for packing products.
10 minutes with some plastic bags and a stapler.
They worked great with my Oxford heated grips. so good i left them on for a month.

Bought the same jacket just before Christmas, it's great and the controller works great..Enjoy

I gave it a try today although not really that cold so only used on low. Really comfortable and the collar warmth is definitely a novelty.

I have the Keis controller permanently Velcro'd to the tank midway between the front edge of the seat and the tank filler and it seems to work quite well, plus I can remove it easily if required for overnight parking etc.

Just wondering if I should have purchased the full fat jacket instead of the vest as my arms can get a bit cool under the liner-less Klim.

I did consider the waist coat but thought that if you needed heating then the arms might as well get some too.
