HELP!!:(

My brake light is stuck on

I have the LAMPR! showing

Changed the bulb - both filaments still lit together

Cleaned the bulb holder/contacts in case of corrosion

Played with the front brake lever - No change

Played with the rear brake pedal - No change and nothing stuck in either

GS-911 V1.32 Reckons

Electronics (ZFE)
41720:Rear light malfunction
41731:Brake light malfunction

Everything else the GS-911 reckons is normal

Any Suggestions:nenau

The computer thinks the rear bulb is blown. You need to figure out why.

If the computer thinks the rear light is blown it lights the brake light at half brightness. It goes to full brightness when you press the brakes. That's kinda clever.... And perfectly normal.

My bulb is at full brightness all the time - actuating the front brake lever or the rear brake pedal makes no difference.........(other than slowing me down:D)

disconnect first the front brake switch if no joy the foot brake switch
maybe the switch is faulty always try the easy bits first

Change the bulb.

Either filament may have blown and fallen into contact with the other one, illuminating both.

i had that on my GSA.
when you switch the ignition off, then on again, is the rear light normal.
Then when you use the front break, the rear break light stays on.

it was the front break lever micro switch, about £6.00 to replace. got mine done under extended warrenty, well worth the £300.00 per year.

Hmm...I'd be tempted to question the worth of a £300 Warranty to replace a £6 switch. :D

P.S. It's BRAKE :augie

Got my bike sorted - problem traced to a fault within the rear tail light assembly.

New tail light £35.92
Labour £69.00
Vat £18.36

Apparently this problem has not occurred before.

Had to replace my tail light assembly a couple of months ago. All the contacts had corroded to dust. :tears Ah well. What are you going to do? :nenau

Glad your problem is sorted Phil.

Warlock,

I'll put a few miles up on it...........it's been quite a while from you and I have been out for a scoot so we will have to arrange something. I take it Racetruck has retired from GSing?

Phil
