Brand new Moto Guzzi v100s corrosion

Piaggio are not interest they even fail to reply to my emails, moto guzzi / piaggio shower of shite, I feel for anyone whom buys a new guzzi because whilst you may have a good dealer the manufacturer does not give a fook about you and when you complain that your new stelvio engine paint is peeling, they will say it’s only cosmetic we will rattle can it.
I had the same “not our problem, your contract is with the dealer” shite from BMW. Legally correct, fucking unhelpful.

i suggest a detailed, thorough, polite but firm letter of complaint to whoever are MG’s uk importer, with a copy to the marketing director at Piaggio, and the general manager at MG Mandello. I’m sure a bit of Googling will find their names. Ensure that each knows that the others are in copy.

it might elicit some kind of apology, or it might not, but it will make you feel better, and hopefully it will trigger a bit of size 12 toecap being put up the collective arse of the halfwits at the dealer

but get the cash first.

I would get the money into the account, issue them a letter stating that you will be persuing them for the difference, otherwise you could be waiting a long time for the £15k. One year loss of interest on this sum will be the difference.

LinkedIn is very good for answering that question -

MOTOCYCLE AND SCOOTER CENTRE KNOWN AS MCN

Have repaid £15064.00 into my account I’m still short, I’ve served papers from trading standards

under the consumer rights act 2015, goods you supply should be of satisfactory quality, as there was a problem with the goods when I bought them (Andrew confirmed by email the bike arrived like that with yourselves) the bike was described ‘as brand new” therefore your in breach of the sale of good act.

I’ll be visiting the shop in person tomorrow with my mate, we will be wearing body cams so we document everything and just in case we have use reasonable force to protect ourselves.

This is getting out of hand now

I wouldn't go into the shop with your mate. I'd be going down the legal route leaving it up to the powers that be to get back the monies your are owed (y)

Although you may feel better going into the shop to challenge them, it won't make any difference as the chances are that the decision makers probably won't be around. Even if they were, they would refuse to simply repay the difference and could even accuse you of intimidation so be very careful what you say and do, the law is an ass in this respect. If you take legal action, you need to be "squeeky clean" so to speak. A few years back I dumped my new but not fit for purpose and PDi damaged motorhome on the dealer forecourt and left it with large notices in the windows informing visiors of the situation - they tried to take legal actions, but only after they broke into it and hotwired it in order to move it, let's say the situation got quite stressful.

You've recovered over £15k - that's a very good start, esp in light of some of the speculation that the dealership might not be financially sound.

That's a good result so far.

And....
An admission that something needs rectifying under warranty when it's never actually been ridden?
And......
As they admit that what does it suggest about the quality of PDI they're charging you for?

I'm incredulous.

Disappointment, distress and time wasted.......

The fact that they delivered the bike in the state it was, in the dark, and now want to charge you £500 for the fuck about gives an indication of the chancing shysters you're dealing with.

Do we need to be removing the rust from our pitchforks?

I wonder what’s happening with the bike you rejected - they are probably lining up the yellow dots at this very moment hoping to scam some other poor unsuspecting punter :D

I can't help but think there maybe some politics between Guzzi and the dealer going on here. MSC into heavily discounting new bikes. Piaggio only like their products discounted when it's an official factory promotion. Maybe they've tried to supply them with a couple of substandard bikes. That doesn't provide any excuse for the dealer to think they can supply that bike to a customer.
Personally I've never been attracted to discounting dealers. I always think they have to make the money up somewhere.
Pleased you got a result Ding Dong. Well, mostly.

When I had another conversation with a different guzzi dealer several months ago whom was listing v100s bikes on eBay for £14500 he told me he had to remove the listings because piaggio got the word and wasn’t happy, but would still do one at that price behind closed doors.

It was still in my name until this morn when I put it into there’s, I had a copy of the v5.

This thread MSC MOTO GUZZI is ranking on the first page of google, hopefully it will save someone the heartache of losing money or make you aware the service is substandard.

Would you even take your bike there for a service when they can’t even carry out a pdi ??

My advice would be to Stay away from the shop at all costs now …
It will only end one way …🤦‍♂️
let the legal boys sort the balance out.

That is some of the best advice on the thread, it would be all to easy for things to get out of hand, camera's or not, and the camera's themselves could be seen as some form of intimidation. Personally I'd not put myself in that position, because I know I lack the self control these days to not get carried away with the moment, especially if I was already pissed off. Let the legal beagles sort it, it is not worth the ride in the police car :)

They are shithouses, and you are getting the word out Ding-Dong, you have the bulk of your cash back, so time to hunker down and play the long game.

Moto Guzzi reply.
