In march issue of Bike magazine, the 1200 GS gets a stonking report card. In a nutshell the reviewer describes it as a brilliant bike.

:)

Steady

Take all these reveiws with a pinch of salt, they'll print what they are paid to print, read the chap in the Motoring Telegraph, Kevin Ash, he was the only one to criticise the K1200S when it came out all the others said it was brilliant but he was right the others were wrong and BMW had to recall all of 'em for major mods.

Its my opinion that the engine is excellent, but the final drive, electrics and brakes leave a lot to be desired, if you get one have the NON ABS version, I reckon that all the models with the servo brakes will be worthless in years to come and BMW will replace the current servo system with a different one within the next 18 months, they have suffered a lot of negative publicity with the problems of the new models.

Time will tell if the 1200RT launched this weekend will suffer similar failures.

What are the critical comments about the servo brakes? For me they have been truly magnificent, they have given me inpeccable performance over the first 1000 miles.

Read the Feb issue of the Pipe & Slippers journal. Two separate letters describing brake servo failures on K1200's. I'd be SERIOUSLY worried about hooning down towards the 33rd hairpin on the Stelvio pass (or similar). That's GOT to hurt.
I can see the day when BMW gets nailed to the mast in the future when some poor bugger gets killed due to a servo failure at the wrong time!
