I'm sitting at home today with a broken wrist and a sore ankle after getting taken off the bike last night on the way home. Filtering stopped traffic when car decided on u-turn. No time to avoid and lucky to get away with relatively minor injuries.
I haven't seen the bike since but understand it's pretty fecked.:(:(:(

jeez daimo sorry to hear that, was out sunday an one a the lads snotted himself aswell, hope there,s not to much damage an you heal up soon, after all you want to be able to fit in that tent again next year :thumb2

Bummer

Damn thats a bummer the roads are full of wa...ers who cant drive, hope your injuries heal quick and the bike gets sorted.I havent ridden mine for two weeks, took it out today dodging crap drivers all day then on my way back get stopped by the old bill for speeding,40mph on a 30mph duel carriageway where all the rich bast...ds live the cop said as he filled in my fixed penalty is your bike auto or manual? oh well nice to know the traffic cops have a grasp of motorcycle engineering? as i left he said they were just making sure people understood the need to keep speed down,i said how about the need to catch the ahole who broke into my house........

Sh1te.....Where did it happen?... And how did the driver of the car react?

Knackered wrists are a buggar.... Seem to take forever to heal.

Bad news min, bike can aye be fixed or replaced,so long as your aye on the go ,get well soon bud

Sorry to hear that Damio, something similar happened to me on the way to my first GSer rally in Donegal, filtering along a line of Traffic, driver decieded he was fed up waiting, and does a U turn, bang....ended up out over the bonnet. My left hand side cylinder head left a nice round hole in his drivers door, anyway broken collar bone, and the bike was written off as was to costly to repair. It will be hard at the moment.but just be tankful its just the bike, and that you will be ok. I was lucky in that the Driver admitted he was doing a U turn ,so I got the bike replaced, but just be carefull on the whole, Filtering/inside/outside the white line, dotted or full white line, etc, etc. ...Speedy recovery

Hope the least you get out of it is a new bike:thumb2

But I had a new bike already.

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone.

Not too upset about the bike yet, as I can't get over the fact that i'm basically ok, although my ankle is the colour of a very strange black-blue coloured balloon.

Had all the gear on which helped, particularly the boots in this case.

Cheers, dB.

get well soon dude - at least you're around to talk about it :)

:spitfire sorry to hear about your accident:(.....dont worry about the bike it can be repaired or replaced just rest up and look after your own recovery ..........not your fault you met up with another fcukin idiot that doesnt use mirrors:anger

Howya Daimo,
The thread title is a bit of an understatement.

Glad yer ok and will mend and that's all that really matters, it's amazing really that you got off so lightly injury wise.:thumb2

Anyway, chin up and stitch the fecker up royally for being so stupid.:spitfire

GWS. Daithi.:thumb

Just went out to see the bike. Both front forks snapped off and bars bent back to cylinder heads.

Funny, front wheel looks unblemished - tyre inflated etc., just not connected to the rest of the bike

I imagine there are some serious costs in putting together the front suspension with ESA etc... so I'd still feel it's a write-off.

Foot is a nice yellow moving to blue with a hint of black at the bottom. :)

That's definitely gangrene... quickly go out to the shed and cut the foot off before it spreads to your trollicks.

It's an amazing sensation when you've your foot up for a while and then stand up, the blood
rushes down to the bruised foot. :mmmm

Has the driver admitted responsibility ?
