BT020 vs Tourance/Annakee etc?

So:

How do the BT020's compare on the road i.e "living with" in comparison to the usual Tourance/Annakee line of tyres?

As 99.9% of my riding is done on tarmac the idea of a road tyre like I had on the bandit appeals!

Called Watling at Catford - Tourances £152 a pair and 020's £187 in stock, plus wheel removal if you want them to do it and balancing on top....

Mark's observations are spot on!

I've had my 020's for a couple of weeks now and have racked up about a thousand miles on them and have found them to "feel" more planted on the road than the OE Metz that were on before. I have found the bike feels lighter and quicker in some corners but never too light. I think that may be to do with the different profile on the 020's.

I never had any real issues with the Metz that were on the bike but I've had 020's on quite a few other bikes before the BM and have great confidence in them wet or dry - personal preferrence dictates.

IMHO - great tyre, great performance, good wear rate

I use '020's on the Alloys, they are a very good tyre..... for me.

Before going to Alloys......I had the OE Trailwing on the front and changed the rear once it was knack't to a 160/60 '020' , they hadn't started making the 19" front back then.

The bike handled spot on even though there was an apparent mis-match in tyre types.......

In doing so I got more than an extra 1000 miles out of the rear over the Trailwing..........

I'm getting on for 4k on my BT 020's as I have stated before that they are better than the Tourances in the dry but are not as good as the Tourances in the wet, the front slips & the back skips in the wet almost as bad as the Michelin T66's. So when winter comes I'll be going back to Tourances,
It is a shame as I like the way they feel in the dry you can push them to the limit, I have a Mate who has A Fazer Thou He's a fare rider [He used to run a RC30] & He never fails to be surprised that I can keep up or even get in front of Him on His Thou through the twisties, I put a lot of this down to the BT's

I had 020's on my TDM and then the Bandit, and that's what made me interested in em for the GS.. Never had a problem on those two bikes and in youth I didn't hang about..... So I'll give em a go....
