Budget

Due to a change in work location (plus a few other domestic commitments and a general coming-to-my-senses) I'm selling my 2004 FJR1300 and looking to buy a GS.

My budget will be circa £6.5k to £7k.

I'd be grateful for thoughts on what I could/should get for that number of sponoolicks, and whether I should go down the dealer/private route.

With that cash you should be able to pick up a nice Adventure with some goodies and FSH privately.

If you manage to sell your bike privately and you then have cash, you could get a good deal buying in the next couple of months (there will be quite a few owners looking to change theirs for the 1200 Adv and wanting to sell privately).

If you are going for a p-ex it might be best to wait a few months, there are bound to be 1150/1200 p-ex deals done for the 1200 Adv. A dealer might prefer to have an Fj in stock rather than a couple of 1150's and do a good deal.
