Carrying on from Keep or Build ???

I decided to build something 🙈

It all started with a bike from a Px that came to me sort of in one piece.

It's an R80GS Basic that was imported here from Germany.
Some of the standard bits were missing but it has

R100 heads.
40mm bings
Hpn oil cooler
Touratech imo clocks
Swt acerbis large tank
Single seat
Acerbis rear mudguard
and a few other goodies.

Another afternoon marking out what I think i want/need shape wise. Then back on the milling machine and hacked it out into a rough shape.
Just waiting on a couple of end Mills now as had one shatter the last time I used it.
Got an old set of ktm yokes so robbed the spindle out of those. Will need shortening but should do the job. 😊

Been bit bust recently, but nearly there with the tripples now.
Just got to sort the pich bolt holes and clean up some of the sharp edges. I can mount them up then and work out where I need the holes to mount the front mudguard.
Then ill make up a set of risers to go with them. 😁

must be like watching money shrinking as you grind away. Great skills. Hope all the swarf gets re used?
Swarf is in the bin. Made a brake pedal extension for the 701 out of 1 corner i cut off. Cheapest set of yokes i could find to buy were €900 from Germany. There's £180 worth of billet and I'd be in the garage in my spare time anyway 👍😊

Hopefully have a bit of time now to carry on now winter is on the way 😃

Probably not needed but a couple of hours today so started making up some bar risers and mount for the steering damper. It's sat on the shelf so I may aswell well use it.
A fair bit of work yet on them, but can then get the Yokes and front end finished off and tidied up20250905_204746.jpg20250905_204808.jpg20250905_204836.jpg
