hi good morning - a little advice requested.

just had to replace dipped headlight bulb / old one def kaput / fitted new one - but now its not working and 'lampf' still coming up on instruments. i am sure have fitted right. any ideas or is it just a matter time for the system to recognise a new bulb has replaced the old blown one ?????????

Switch bulbs with the hi beam, see if its the bulb. Watch out for the spring clip flying off

I just experienced the same problem bike went for mot lights all working, went back to collect my bike only to find a big red failure for headlamp bulb not working oh well bulbs can go anytime i thought, rode back home to fit new bulb, only when i took out the bulb it was still hot so i bench tested the bulb & it worked I put a new one in anyway & went back for my free retest 10 minutes later he comes back out "headlamp still not working mate" as they pull the bike out the lamp comes on again so they quickly test it(engines running now) & tell me i need to sort the intermittent fault out on my lamps.
Wish i had seen this post before i took it for the mot, i would love to go back & inform him of his error but i feel like a prize plonker for not realising the headlamp only works with the engine on myself
