I'm now running a twin head light conversion I made out of a pair of zxr400 head lights.
The question is the bulbs in their origionally were 35w.
I have modified the units to take 55/65w Philips lights, and I'm pretty happy about them but I do have a concern.
I run with lights on all the time, and i have noticed that the cable to the light unit is slightly warm after about 30 minutes communiting, but not hot.
Questions?
1) Is this going to cause me a problem later if so what?
2) where can i get desent 35w bulbs from, I guess I can't get the blue vision ones at that wattage.
3) would fitting a relay help at all, if so how/where
4) would an in line resistor work on the dipped to bring the power down so I can keep using the same bulbs and keep the mail beam? if so how.

Thanks, just looked, it mentioned about installing a relay for more than 80W under the tank, does anyone know how/ or done this?

Done it, but bear in mind if you're installing a relay that also means installing new wiring up to the bulbs.

There are two wires on one of the connectors, one for main beam and one for dipped, you'll want to cut into those to put the relays in. I'll see if I can find my pictures when I get home if you're interested.

Yes I would be interested in all the help you can give me as I am still finding my way round this bike.

Especially as I am thinking about in the future fitting extra spot lights so that they come on automatically when on main beam, in case this has an impact.
