buying a 1200

Hi Gang

Im seriously thinking of getting a 1200gs but being a long term 1100gs
owner i dont know what im looking for ie.. has the paint finish been sorted
and the mechanical stuff i heard somewhere that the 06 bikes were all sorted

any info much appriciated

Mines a July 2005 Septic and apart from a revving problem (throttle bodies) its been as good as gold and done about 9000 miles. The paints good and mechanically everything is fine.
I think from what ive read some of the 2004 bikes had problems.
If your already a GS owner you probably know more about them than I do and probably already have a good dealer you use.
I love the bike and will definetly be getting another next year.

Not much info there im afraind but probably a bit more constructive than "dont"

Mine is an April 05 bike, no problems so far. Most of the problems that I have read about appear to have affected the 2004 bikes.
(but I am sure someone will think differently !!!!!)

took delivery of a 2006 silver GS in October, have covered about 3000miles during the winter in the North of Scotland, it is the best bike I have ever owned (to date, havin owned 20+ bikes). would fully recommend it. (other makes all have their issues!)

handling - great, comfort - superb, finish - excellent.
get one if you can
