Byways day

It's strange, I'm now apprehensive about Three shires head although I've done it on a CRF 300L. Got to get it done though at some point along with Cumberland brook
I did 3 shires on my Tiger, but only because I was part of a group that was doing it, it definitely put me out of my comfort zone. I'd like to do it as I build confidence at some point on my 390 Adventure which is a lot lighter.

Loved yer video. Great to see new folks on the lanes also respecting them and the other users of the lanes. Well done to the newby gettin down Pindale on first day out. I always try to go upum if I can firstime.

You going to join us on Saturday Mick?

Still planning on going Saturday for this 'Lost on the Lanes' loop, although will keep an eye on the weather. Saturday at the moment is looking good, but a bit chiller than recently (4-10 degrees C).

I'm optimistically targetting 09:30 to get there for a 10:00 set off.

Going up or down Pindale? :p

I noticed on the 'Lost on the Lanes' video that Sophie came off coming down Pindale, but the route is going up it I think.

Let me know Friday night if this is on , don't want a wasted journey!

I'm really looking forward to it, its only if the weather turns to crap consistently between now and then I might rethink it, but will make a final decision Thursday evening. Weather is currently looking good.

If either of you two don't have the GPX but want it on your satnavs let me know. I'll be on a little KTM 390 Adventure R and my avatar gives you an indication of my level of skill :D .

OK, so 9:30 for 10am set off at the Cow Shed Cafe (google link below).

Weather is looking g good for this, is it still on on?

Yep still on, see you there, I'll PM my number.

Been a bit of a stressful morning, some dozy driver ran into the back of me on the Saxondale roundabout near Bingham this morning, fortunately I was in the car (would have been a lot worse on the bike!).

Ryan.

Just an additional late thought based on a recent question received.

I'm used to arranging or taking part in Adventure bike rideouts so will generally not consider if parking for the day is available. I havent spoken to the Cow Shed about people parking there and as they have quite a small carpark I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want vehicles left there all day.

Sorry !

Lovely morning out today and thanks to @FERRET (Stuart) and @Slime Bomb (Simon) for joining me and allowing a reasonably early start before 10am at the Cow Shed. We got around the route in really good time mostly thanks to the collective good pace being kept up. Really enjoyed it, and mission accomplished of completing that route. I was a little out of my comfort zone on Pindale, but we all made the lanes without any incidents.

Weather was super kind to us as it stayed dry and mostly sunny. The little KTM seems to be doing ok ! I video'd some of the lanes so will create a short compilation at some point.

If you want to see the sorts of lanes, here is a video here of the morning. Sorry for the heavy breathing, forgot I had a microphone in my helmet 🙄 .

Let's not talk about the 'incident' on Pindale (no, not what your thinking, no one fell off :D).

Thanks for getting us together yesterday Ryan. Had a great day. There are so many times I go past a turning because I'm looking at the scenery like at 2:46. :ROFLMAO:

I liked it so much when we departed I went on to do some more.

I'll be out again on the 8th November, I might do the first route again. Let me know if anyone wants to join !

I'm up for anything any time as long as it's not raining. What about the latest one from 'Lost on the lanes' or is it too long?

We could always start it and see how far we get, Im game, but will want to stop about 3:30pm latest (given the time we made around the last one that might make it doable).

Yeah, I think it will be doable but like you say we just call it a day when we need to. Also you have a more distance to travel than me.
