I am looking at replacing the cam chain tensioners on my 09 GS. I have looked at the realoem part catalogue and found the part numbers but when I use those numbers I can;t find anywhere that even recognises the part number for the right hand tensioner.
The left hand number seems fine and Motorworks have them in stock. The number that I have for the right hand tensioner is 113118530331.
Does anyone have any other numbers or info on that right hand cam chain tensioner?

Looks like this might be what your after, part# 11311341 296 Right Chain Tensioner for 09 r1200GS
Hope it helps.

I took the retainer bolt out accidentally recently. Ow,

How does one replace this and why are you replacing this dashfixer?

FYI dashfixer, the upper blades (tensioner on left and slider on right) are held in place by a common pin. That pin is retained between the crankcase halves. I stand to be corrected, as I remember it the crankcase must be split in two to release the pin and hence the blades.
Are you sure you need to replace? If it because the left is a bit slappy when cold, I believe there is an upgrade to the tensioner piston. It is available on the Motorworks website.

Sometimes you cannot find a part because it is the same as the other side and no one bothers to stock it under a different number.

This is the case with the handbrake Bowden cables on my BMW car. Just sayin’

My mistake, I should have called the part the cylinder chain tensioner right hand, which is what the IPC calls it. I'm not changing the blade or rail or the mounting assembly for the blades/rails. The part number on the realoem IPC is 11318530331. I will give Motorworks a call and see if they can shed any light.
