I fitted an LED tail light last night and it is behaving oodly - sticking on intermittently. I put the original bulb back in and although it stuck on briefly a couple of times it seems OK now. Normally I would assume that it's just one of the switches sticking but it is happening on both F & R brakes?
Sooooo, is it possible that the LED light with its low current drain is doing summat odd to the electrikery? It's an ABS 1150 BTW :thumb

I have fitted a "U38035R(380) 35 Red Led Stop & Tail Bulb (Single) 120% Brighter" from Ultraleds to my 1150GS with ABS and have had no problems. The bulb is so much brighter than standard and should last. Sorry I can't throw any light on your problem otherwise. :nenau

How much and where do you get them please ? Also will they work with the servo model 1150 ?

Hi Luke.
This is the link for the stop and tail lamp I bought.http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_...=1135&osCsid=6e477a473e084d332dd8bcaf85a879ae
I have found Ultraleds, who do all sorts of bulbs for cars and bikes, to be very helpful (just give them a call if you have any questions). I recently fitted rear LEDS to my sons K75S, which had a habit of blowing or blackening the tail light bulb. His bike has a bulb failure device so I have ordered the resistors to fit in line to cure the "constant-on-dim-and-bulb-fail-warning-light-on" problem. As to fitting them to the servo model, I would have thought there would be no problem, only if you have a bulb failure system as mentioned above and cured the same way.
The stop and tail on my 1150GS are definitely brighter than standard. I have a LED bulb as my front sidelight, which is almost bright enough to use as a day running light (same source).
I was almost tempted by these indicator bulbs and LED flasher unit, but with the bulbs facing outward, even with reflectors, I am not sure of the gain and the cost is a bit on the prohibitive side!

Hope this helps

Notwitstanding that you've now found the fault, the answer is 'Yes'.

Do LEDs cause problems on ABS bikes? 'Sometimes' (but not always).

A word of caution
remember that the tail lamp has also to provive a 'white' light for the number plate illumination, this is via the clear window in the rear lamp cover
so you may be better off buying the White LED stop tail from ultra Leds
